The No. 3 Yale Bulldogs look to stay on the winning track as they take on the top ranked team in the country, Penn State. The Bulldogs, who took the two meetings last season, face an explosive offensive team that has already played three contests. The Bulldogs and Nittany Lions are set to square off in Panzer Stadium this Saturday at noon at University Park, Pa.

SERIES
Yale holds a 3-0 series lead against Penn State. The two teams met twice last season, the Elis won 14-13 in New Haven early in the season, before Yale grabbed a 21-17 victory in the NCAA Tournament Semi-Finals. The only meeting at University Park was a 10-7 Yale win in a 2013 NCAA Tournament game.

LAST YEAR
The Bulldogs and Nittany Lions met twice last season. The first came in Yale's second game of the year, a 14-13 win at home. The second was in the NCAA Tournament Semi-Finals and included a seven-goal, eight-point performance from Matt Brandau in the 21-17 Bulldog win.

BULLDOGS
Yale, the unanimous top pick of NEILA this week, used a pair of five-goal runs to win at Villanova last week, 18-12.  During the season-opening win Matt Gaudet tallied his 125th career goal and TD Ierlan, in the first quarter, became the NCAA ground ball leader. Ierlan won 23 of 31 faceoffs and had 13 ground balls. Yale would pull away in the fourth quarter following their second five goal run of the afternoon. The Bulldogs had five different multiple goal scorers, including four goal games from Lucas Cotler, Matt Gaudet and Thomas Bragg, and three goals from Matt Brandau who finished with six points. Goalie Brody Wilson also recorded a career-high 13 saves. Yale's 18 goals were the most in a season opener since 2016, when they scored 17 in a win against UMass Lowell.
