Inside Lacrosse All-America Honors for Four Bulldogs

Ierlan, Fake, Gaudet, Hynes Picked by Media

BALTIMORE, Md.   – The Bulldogs won three of their four games, including a game on the road against the No. 1 ranked team, and were ranked No. 5 when the season came to an end. TD Ierlan, Chris Fake, Matt Gaudet and Aidan Hynes impressed the media enough over those four weeks to earn Inside Lacrosse All-America honors.

Ierlan was a first-team pick and Fake made the second squad, while Gaudet and Hynes were both honorable mention. All four Yale student-athletes have previous All-America nods.

Ierlan, a senior and four-time All-American, is the most prolific player on the X in the history of NCAA Lacrosse. A finalist for the 2019 Tewaaraton and a watch list member this spring, he was leading the nation this spring in win percentage after being picked 2020 Inside Lacrosse and USILA Warrior & New Balance Pre-Season All-America first-team. The Victor, N.Y., native, who owns 10 NCAA records, was Ivy League Player of the Year in 2019.

Fake is a junior defenseman from Allentown, N.J., with three straight All-America selections. He is on the Tewaaraton Watch List for a second straight year after earning the team award for top defensive player in 2019. He is a pre-season All-America pick by both IL and USILA who had 26 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers in 2019.

Gaudet, a senior attackman who earned his second All-America honor today, was among the nation's leaders with 18 goals in four games this season. He led the team with a Yale junior record 51 goals last year while earning honorable mention All-America. The Hamilton, Ont., native was on the watch list in 2019 after earning most outstanding player at the 2018 NCAA Championship weekend. He made the Tewaaraton Watch List this year as well.

Hynes, a 2019 USILA Warrior & New Balance honorable mention All-America pick, was a 2020 IL pre-season All-America selection. The senior from Mahopac, N.Y., has been All-Ivy League twice as one of Yale's top defensemen.
