NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Three Yale men's fencers have earned All-America recognition from the United States Fencing Coaches Association. Maxwell Yee was named to the second team, while Nicolas Del Vecchio and Safi Haider were honorable mention selections.

Yee, a first year, was Yale's top foilist over the course of the year. He tied for 11th at the Ivy League Championship and also competed at the Junior Olympics in February. Haider won a silver medal in the epee at the Northeast Regionals. De Vecchio, a sophomore, was Yale's top finisher (8th) in the sabre at the Northeast Regionals and also tied for 10th at the Ivy League Championship.

Yee, Del Vecchio and Haider were all set to compete at the NCAA Championship.

Each year the USFCA recognizes the outstanding work of the fencing student-athletes by naming the All-Americans based on their achievements in the national championship, however, this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic the championships were canceled. All-American honors were based on each fencer's overall body of work through the season competitions and NCAA Regionals.
