Bulldogs Start Fall Strong at Head of Housatonic

Yale Competes in Pairs and Fours

Yale women's crew tried a little something different at the Head of the Housatonic. The Bulldogs raced seven pairs and five fours instead of the typical eights. The results were impressive.

Yale had three of the top five finishers in the Open Four and turned in seven impressive times in the Open Pair in an event that almost exclusively featured Yale crews.

"We have been focusing on small boats this fall and enjoying the process," said Will Porter, the Friends of YWC Head Coach of the Bulldogs.

The Head of Housatonic also provides on opportunity to celebrate the program.

"It was great to welcome our alumnae and fans back and to compete for Yale," Porter said.

Yale also used the event to dedicate a shell to Kristi Wagner '15, who competed in the recent Tokyo Olympics.

"Being able to dedicate a shell to Kristi was a special moment for the team," Porter said. "It was great to honor our Olympians."

The Bulldogs will return to eights when they compete at the Head of the Charles on Oct. 23-24.
