Box Score NEW YORK, N.Y. – There were no goals scored, but there sure was plenty of action on Saturday at Rocco Commisso Stadium. Yale and Columbia combined for 24 shots, many of them high-quality scoring opportunities, but none found the back of the net, so the result was a scoreless tie on a chilly evening in the Big Apple.

Both goalkeepers had strong games. Elian Haddock faced 10 shots and made three saves for the Bulldogs, while Columbia's Michael Collodi stopped six of the 14 shots he faced.

Yale's best opportunity came early in the second half. Amidst a flurry of pressure, Paolo Carroll got off a shot from right in front that banged off the crossbar.

The Lions had a good scoring chance in the final seconds, but Alessandro Franciosa's header off a corner kick went wide.

"This was another classic Ivy League game that was a battle for 90 minutes," said Kylie Stannard, the 5K Corral Head Coach of the Bulldogs. "It seems like we are getting everyone's best game which makes it even more challenging but it's part of the process to learning how to deal with the expectations we have. Credit to Columbia for being difficult to play against and also their goalkeeper, who made several excellent saves in addition to the crossbars we hit."

Yale's strong play on the road continued. The Bulldogs are now 5-1-3 away from the friendly confines of Reese Stadium this season.

For the Lions, it was their sixth tie of the season and fourth in Ivy play.

Yale is back home for the final time this season next Saturday vs. Cornell. Kickoff on Senior Day is slated for 5 p.m.

"We need to keep believing in ourselves as a group and focus on finishing the last couple of games well," Stannard said.
