The Yale women's hockey team gears up for two conference matchups at Ingalls Rink this weekend. On Friday, RPI makes its way to New Haven for an evening tilt before the Bulldogs host Union on Saturday. These will be the final matchups for the Bulldogs in the 2022 calendar year until they resume action in the new year. Both contests will be live on ESPN+ and available for international viewing on Stretch Internet.
Bulldog Bytes
- Yale (8-1-1, 4-1-1 ECAC) was 0-1-1 last weekend with a 4-4 draw against then-No. 10 Cornell and a 5-3 loss to then-No. 6 Colgate.
- Elle Hartje has been a consistent presence for the Bulldogs. The junior has points in all but one game this season and has recorded at least one point in each of the last six. Against Colgate, she picked up her second multi-point game of the year and the seventh of her career. She is also 53.8% in the faceoff circle.
- Hartje's linemates, Jordan Ray and Anna Bargman, have been hot this season. Ray has points in nine of the 10 games this season (6g, 6a), while Bargman (6g, 6a) has scored the first goal in five games. Together, the trio are a combined plus-17.
- Vita Poniatovskaia has been solid on the backend for Yale and has provided two goals and four assists on offense. The sophomore is a plus-8 with six blocks.
- Pia Dukaric has been a bright spot for Yale in goal. The sophomore has started all 10 games for the Bulldogs and has a .942 save percentage, and a 1.58 goals against average.
Notables
- Pia Dukaric was named the Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) National Goaltender of the Month and the ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Month for November.
- Claire Dalton's six points this season put her at 103 career points, which is second all-time in program history.
- Dalton's three assists this season saw her become the new program record for career assists (70) surpassing Maria Dennis (68).
Last Meeting with RPI
Yale was victorious in both meetings with RPI last season. The Bulldogs blanked the Engineers in both matchups, 3-0.
Recent History
The Bulldogs hold the narrow edge in the last ten outings, 5-3-2. Three of their last ten games have been decided in overtime with two ties as a result as well as one victory for RPI.
Scouting the Engineers
- RPI (4-13-1, 0-6-1 ECAC) is 2-3-0 in its last five games played. They fell to No. 15 Princeton, 5-1, and No. 4 Quinnipiac, 3-0, in last weekend's matchups.
- Ellie Kaiser is the Engineers' leading point-getter with five goals and seven assists.
- Amanda Rampado has seen the most time in goal for RPI. The senior has a .915 save percentage and 2.38 goals against average. Three of Rampado's four wins this season have been shutouts.
Last Meeting with Union
The two sides last met in February for both matches of last season. The Bulldogs blanked the Dutchwomen, 7-0, in the first game. In the second game, Union went up 2-0 in the second period. The Bulldogs then scored three unanswered goals, capped by a
Grace Lee game-winner with 23.6 seconds left in the game to win it for Yale, 3-2.

Scouting the Dutchwomen
- Union (8-6-1 and 3-3-1 ECAC) have been hot in the last five games. The Dutchwomen are 4-1 with two of the wins coming in overtime.
- Both overtime victories were decided by one of Union's two leading pointer-getters, Riley Walsh.
- Walsh has nine goals, three of which were game winners, as well as four assists. The first year has been named the ECAC Rookie of the Week three times and was recently named the conference's Rookie of the Month.
- Emily King is another ace for Union. The senior has seven goals, including three game-winners, and six assists.
- Sophie Matsoukas has been the go-to in goal for Union. The sophomore has a .924 save percentage and a 2.64 goals against average.
