MORAGA, Calif. – The Yale men's tennis team dropped a close match at Saint Mary's, falling 4-2.
Theo Dean earned a hard-fought, three-set victory for the Bulldogs at No. 2 singles. After dropping the first set 7-5, Dean rallied to win the second set in a tiebreaker and took the third set 7-5.
Aidan Reilly also posted a thrilling three-set win at No. 4. Reilly lost the first set in a tiebreaker, won the second set 6-2 and took the deciding set in a tiebreaker.
Walker Oberg was one game away from victory at No. 6, but his match was not completed. Oberg had a 5-3 lead in the third set when his match was stopped.
The Bulldogs remain in Northern California to face Santa Clara on Tuesday.
