NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale softball team returns to the friendly confines of 5K Corral Field at DeWitt Family Stadium to host Central Connecticut in a doubleheader on Wednesday. The first pitch of the first game is slated for 12:30 p.m. ESPN+ will stream both games live.

The Bulldogs are coming off a 4-3 victory over Harvard on Sunday.
Maddie Latta struck out seven in 5.2 strong innings in the circle.
Nicole Conway got the final four outs to earn a save.
Sam Goodcase belted her second home run of the season and
Lauren Perren and
Miranda Papes added RBI hits.

Yale received strong pitching throughout its Ivy opening weekend with the Crimson. Conway tossed 8.1 innings without allowing an earned run, while Latta had 12 strikeouts in 12.2 innings.

Offensively, Goodcase is fourth in the Ivy League with a .344 average. Latta also has enjoyed success at the plate. She has a team-best three doubles, while
Carmen Muscolina leads the team with six RBI.

The Bulldogs return to Ivy League play with a three-game series at Dartmouth this weekend.

SCOUTING CENTRAL CONNECTICUT

The Blue Devils (1-20) last played on Sunday as well, dropping a 3-1 decision to Fairleigh Dickinson. Bri Walker leads CCSU with 11 RBI. Kim Howard and Paige Stringer each have hit two home runs. In the circle, Ashley Antonazzo has 25 strikeouts in 36.1 innings pitched. Central has taken trips to Virginia and Louisiana so far this season.
