NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's tennis team certainly seems ready fort the start of Ivy League play. In their non-conference finals, the Bulldogs cruised to a 7-0 victory over Stony Brook at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
Yale easily won the doubles point, dropping only four games in the three matches. The No. 1 duo of
Chelsea Kung and
Jessie Gong were 6-0 winners.
In singles,
Vivian Cheng was involved in the most exciting match at No. 4. Cheng and Stony Brook's Chandrika Joshi split the first two sets. Cheng then won the super tiebreaker 17-15.
Caroline Dunleavy also played a close match at No. 2. She won her super tiebreaker 10-7.
Yale's Ivy opener is next Saturday vs. Brown at 1 p.m. at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
