NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's tennis team knocked off a very good Monmouth squad 7-0 at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
After winning the doubles point, Yale earned several hard-fought victories in singles. At the No. 1 position,
Michael Sun won a thrilling match that was decided in a third-set tiebreaker.
Aidan Reilly also needed three sets to take his match at No. 4. Reilly won the third set 7-5 over Victor Castro. At No. 2,
Theo Dean won the first set in a tiebreaker and then cruised to a 6-2 victory in the second set.
Monmouth entered the match with a 9-1 overall record.
The Bulldogs, who beat Bryant 7-0 last Saturday, improved to 7-4.
Yale concludes a three-match home stand by hosting Delaware on Saturday at 1 p.m.
