Elis Have Big Second Round to Win Yale Invitational

Brantley takes third and leads Bulldogs with a 140

NEW HAVEN, Conn.  – The Bulldogs fired a tournament-low 280 in the second round today to win the Yale Invitational with a score of 574, which was two strokes better than second-place Temple.

Yale, which was in the middle of the 14-team field after a first-round 294, turned it up a notch in the afternoon to win its spring invitational for a second straight time.

Blake Brantley shot a 71 and a 69 to lead the Elis with a 140, which was third individually overall. Gabriel Ruiz (72-70-142), Darren Lin (77-68-145) and Ben Carpenter (73-73-146) had the home team's other top scores on the Yale Golf Course.
