NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's tennis team wrapped up a very successful season in impressive fashion, knocking off Harvard 4-3 at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs finish with a 5-2 Ivy League mark, one match behind Princeton. The Tigers clinched the league crown with a 4-0 victory over Columbia on Sunday.
Victories from the duos of
Chelsea Kung and
Jessie Gong (6-1) and
Caroline Dunleavy and
Kathy Wang (6-3) earned Yale the doubles point.
In singles, Kung (No. 1) and
Vivian Cheng (No. 5) posted straight sets victories. The most exciting match came at No. 3 singles where
Jessie Gong rallied from a set down to win 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.
Gong, a senior, was playing her final collegiate match. She, Dunleavy and Wang were honored prior to the start of the match.
