NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The 2022 Ivy League Champion Yale Men's Golf Team begins play in the NCAA Regional at Yale Golf Course next Monday on the first day of the 54-hole event that includes 14 teams and five individuals.
There is a practice round on Sunday, May 15, and then play begins early the following morning. The top five teams and one individual, who is not on one of those squads, advances to the NCAA Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., on May 27- June 1. We will know who moves on after the third round on Wednesday.
TEAMS COMING TO YALE
North Carolina, the No. 1 seed in this regional, is joined by (in order of seeding) Texas Tech, Wake Forest, Illinois, North Carolina State, Charlotte, North Florida, Georgia Southern, Mississippi State, Virginia, Central Florida, Seton Hall, Yale and Sacred Heart. There will also be individuals playing from UCLA, UConn, Virginia Commonwealth, Delaware and Lafayette. Wake Forest (1974, 1975, 1986) and Yale (1943) are the only schools in this regional who have won an NCAA Golf Championship, though the Elis have more national titles (21) and individual collegiate champions (13) than anyone else.
PARKING FOR FANS
Spectators will park at Yale Bowl (70 Central Ave, New Haven, CT 06511) and be shuttled to the Yale Golf Course Monday through Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The service will run approximately every 30 minutes.
YALE WON IVY TITLE
The Bulldogs, who jumped out to a big lead on the first day of the league championships and never looked back, won Ivies with an 887 (292-289-306), which was five strokes better than second-place Columbia at the Century Club in New York.

Yale was led at Ivies by first-year
Ben Carpenter, the league medalist who shot 72-71-75. Over nine events and 24 rounds, he averaged 74.22 including the fall season. Sophomore
Gabriel Ruiz, another All-Ivy Bulldog, has averaged 74.15 over 27 rounds and 10 tournaments. The third and final All-Ivy member of the roster is first year
Blake Brantley, who posted a 73.10 average over 21 rounds and eight tournaments since the fall. Senior
Darren Lin (73.65) had a round of 68 this spring, while captain
Teddy Zinsner (74.35) played in all nine events and shared the low round of the year with a 67.
