NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Victoria M. "Vicky" Chun, Yale University's Thomas A. Beckett Director of Athletics, has announced
Jay Judge as Yale's new Deputy Director of Athletics for External Relations. Judge joins the Bulldogs from Seton Hall, where he spent 10 years – most recently serving as Sr. Associate Athletics Director for Development & External Operations.
"I am thrilled to have Jay join our executive team as the Deputy of External Relations," said Chun. "Jay brings considerable leadership and administrative experience that will continue to move our athletic department forward. I can't wait for Jay, his wife Diana and daughter Emma to join us in New Haven."
At Yale Judge will oversee all external operations and the baseball, women's ice hockey, men's soccer and men's and women's swimming and diving teams.
At Seton Hall Judge oversaw all of the department's external units, including communications, fundraising, marketing, sponsorships and tickets. His responsibilities included running the day-to-day operations of the Pirate Blue Athletic Fund, which works with alumni and fans to raise funds to benefit Seton Hall's varsity athletic programs. Over the course of his time at Seton Hall he grew the yearly contributions to that fund by nearly 400%.
Judge also oversaw Seton Hall's outside marketing/licensing/media-rights company and outbound ticket sales company. In that role he helped bring in record revenue in marketing, licensing and media rights each of the last two years. The past two years also marked the two highest ticket revenue totals in school history.
In addition, Judge served as the sport administrator for softball and as a member of Seton Hall Athletics' senior staff.
Prior to his stint at Seton Hall, Judge was Assistant Athletics Director/Development at his alma mater, Iona. He oversaw all aspects of athletics development. That included the management and operation of the Iona College Goal Club, the yearly athletics fundraising goal and all fundraising activities. He also was the sport supervisor for men's soccer, softball and volleyball.
"I am ecstatic about the opportunity to work at Yale University, and thank you to Director Vicky Chun, Executive Deputy Director
Ann-Marie Guglieri, Deputy Director
Mary Berdo and everyone involved in the interview process," said Judge. "Growing up nearby, I have so many fond memories of attending Bulldogs athletic events and developed a deep appreciation for Yale's impact in the community. I look forward to being a part of this great athletics department and making new memories working alongside its tremendous student-athletes, coaches and administrators."
Judge graduated from Iona with a bachelor's degree in marketing in 2007 and completed his master's degree in management with a sports and entertainment certificate in 2009. He grew up in Milford, Conn.
