NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Six members of the Yale football team have been recognized for their achievements in the classroom.
Jack Michalik, Jaxton Santiago, Cameron Charron, Billy Eastep, Jaylin Tate and Joey Fortner have been recognized as Academic All-District by College Sports Communications (CSC).
Michalik, an economics major, earned his first accolade from CSC. The linebacker appeared in 11 games for Yale this season, recording three total tackles.
Santiago, currently undecleared, earned his first accolade from CSC. The wideout appeared in 11 games for Yale this season, recording 50 catches for 687 yards and five touchdowns.
Charron, an economics major, earned his first accolade from CSC. The offensive lineman appeared in 11 games for Yale this season.
Eastep, currently undeclared, earned his first accolade from CSC. The defensive back appeared in all 12 games for Yale this season, recording 30 total tackles and five pass breakups.
Tate, an architecture major, earned his first accolade from CSC. The defensive lineman appeared in all 12 games for Yale this season, recording 32 total tackles, including 5.5 tackles for loss.
Fortner, a political science major, earned his first accolade from CSC. He was Yale's starting long snapper in all 12 matchups.
Yale finished the season with a 9-3 overall record and a 6-1 record in Ivy play, defeating previously undefeated Harvard 45-28 to earn the conference's first automatic bid to the FCS playoffs.
