NEW HAVEN, Conn. – So far in 2022, the Yale men's soccer team has been up to any and all challenges. The Bulldogs are unbeaten through six games, have had success against nationally prominent opponents and responded well to quick turnarounds.
Â
Perhaps the biggest test, though, is up next. Yale travels to Durham, N.C., on Tuesday to face an unbeaten Duke squad that is ranked No. 7 in the nation and could rise when the new poll is released Tuesday afternoon. Kickoff at Koskinen Stadium is slated for 7 p.m.
Â
The Bulldogs (4-0-2) have won four straight games and have earned some national recognition themselves, receiving six votes in last week's United Soccer Coaches national poll. Yale hasn't played since a 3-2 victory at Stony Brook last Tuesday.
Paolo Carroll scored his second goal of the game with 6:09 left in the second half to snap a 2-2 tie.
Â
Carroll leads the team with five goals on the season and has 18 in his career. His five goals tie him with four others for the Ivy League lead.
Â
Goalkeeper
Elian Haddock, the 2021 Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year, also is among the Ivy leaders. He is second in the conference with 24 saves.
Â
Yale has played all but two of its games this season away from home. The Bulldogs' most impressive road win was a 2-1 victory at West Virginia, ranked No. 10 at the time, on Sept. 9.
Max Rogers scored the game-winning goal with 2:22 remaining.
Â
Following the West Virginia win, which was on a Friday night, the Bulldogs made a nine-hour bus ride home to New Haven on Saturday before edging Villanova 1-0 on Sunday at Reese Stadium.
Â
Yale also has a 2-2 draw at Rutgers on its resume. The Scarlet Knights received votes in last week's national poll as well.

SCOUTING DUKE
Â
The Blue Devils (6-0-1) are coming off a 1-0 victory over Boston College on Saturday. Ruben Mesalles scored the only goal of the game at 52:36. Duke has outscored its opponents 13-2 on the season. Shakur Mohammed leads the team with four goals and 10 points. Midfielder Peter Stroud was named to the 2022 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List. Duke finished 14-5-1 last season and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
