PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The No. 8 Yale women's squash team defeated No. 6 Cornell, 5-4, in the final match of the Howe Cup at the College Squash Association (CSA) National Team Championships.
 
"The team rose to the challenge of today's match and came in determined to close out the season on a high note," said Lynn Leong, Brooks G. Ragen Director of Squash. "We showed grit and determination to play our best squash."
 
Joy Qu had the highlight match of the day against a strong Cornell opponent. After going down 10-7 in the fifth set, she rallied back to secure the overall team victory for the Bulldogs. Lindsay Westerfield also put on a strong showing for Yale, sweeping her opponent in three sets. Mika Bardin also had a second-straight day of solid performances. After going down following the first set, Bardin powered her way back and rattled off three-straight set wins, winning by six in two of the sets and by three in the other.
