Short Trip to Quinnipiac Up Next for No. 21 Yale Wednesday

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 21 Yale women's lacrosse team makes the brief trip up I-91 on Wednesday to face local rival Quinnipiac at 3:00 p.m. (Quinnipiac All-Access, Live Stats). The Bulldogs have won all eight games in the series dating back to 2013.

Last Game
Yale (1-0, 0-0 Ivy League) opened the season with a decisive 17-6 win vs. Vermont at Reese Stadium Saturday. The Bulldogs fell behind 3-2 at the 4:24 mark of the first quarter – and responded by shutting the Catamounts out for the next 28 minutes, outscoring them 9-0 to take an 11-3 lead. Sophomore attacker Jenna Collignon (Hinsdale, Ill.) finished with a team-best four goals, while sophomore midfielder Fallon Vaughn (Concord, Mass.) had three. Sophomore attacker Taylor Everson (Montclair, N.J.), sophomore midfielder Taylor Lane (Norwalk, Conn.), first year midfielder Bella Saviano (Severna Park, Md.) and senior attacker Olivia Penoyer (Manlius, N.Y.) finished with two goals each, while sophomore attacker Caroline Burt (Newtown Square, Pa.) and junior attacker Bri Carrasquillo (Alpharetta, Ga.) had one each. Senior goalkeeper Clare Boone (Stewartstown, Pa.) finished with six saves.

Collignon Named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week
Sophomore attacker Jenna Collignon (Hinsdale, Ill.) was named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. She led the team in goals with four. She added five draw controls, the second-most on the team, and also had three ground balls.

That's Low
The six goals Vermont scored Saturday matched the second-lowest total the Bulldogs allowed all of last season (May 6, 2022, a 16-6 win vs. Cornell in the Ivy League Tournament Semifinals). The last time the Bulldogs allowed fewer than six goals in a game was a 15-4 win vs. Sacred Heart in the 2022 season opener (Feb. 19).

Scouting Quinnipiac
Quinnipiac (1-1, 0-0 MAAC) opened the season with a 16-11 win vs. Sacred Heart but lost to LIU 13-6 last Saturday. The Bobcats's leading scorer is midfielder Sophie Spencer (5-2-7).
