Bolding Named Finalist for 2023 ECAC Coach of the Year

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – Mark Bolding, Susan Cavanagh Head Coach of Women's Hockey, has been named a finalist for the 2023 Coach of the Year, as announced by ECAC Hockey on Thursday, Feb. 23.

Bolding has led the program to new heights since taking the reins in 2019. This season, the Bulldogs captured their first-ever ECAC Hockey regular season championship, earning the top-seed in postseason play, and first-ever Ivy League title. The team also tied their program-best wins, a feat they topped last campaign, with 26 wins on the season.

Both senior captain Claire Dalton and sophomore Pia Dukaric have earned national recognition from the Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) for their performances in January and November, respectively. Dukaric was also named a semifinalist for National Goaltender of the Year, while Jordan Ray and Carina DiAntonio have been named to the HCA National Rookie of the Year Watchlist.

Last season, the team eclipsed their program-best wins record by nine victories, reached the ECAC Championship game, made their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, and advanced to the 2022 Frozen Four. He was named the 2022 ECAC Hockey Coach of the Year and the American Hockey Coaches Association National Coach of the Year.

The Bulldogs are set to square off with Harvard in the ECAC Quarterfinals on Friday, Feb. 24 at Ingalls Rink for the first of a best-of-three series.
