NEW HAVEN, Conn. — First year Molly Boyle of the Yale women's ice hockey team has been named a second-team All-American by the American Hockey Coaches Association, the organization announced Saturday morning.
Boyle is the sixth All-American in program history and the first since Elle Hartje and Pia Dukaric were named to the second team in 2023. She is also one of two players from ECAC Hockey and the only first year selected to either the first or second team.
Boyle had a remarkable debut season for the Bulldogs as a two-way defender. She finished her rookie campaign with 13 goals and 23 assists, leading the conference in assists. Her 36-point total is the most ever by a Bulldogs defender. She was a first-team All-ECAC Hockey selection, the Ivy League Rookie of the Year and a first-team All-Ivy honoree. She also earned ECAC weekly honors three times and monthly honors twice. She is the first Yale player to be named ECAC Defender of the Year since Emma Seitz in 2023.
Boyle was instrumental in leading Yale to one of its best seasons in program history. She scored the team's lone goal in a 1-0 win over Minnesota Duluth in the NCAA regional semifinals and also tallied a goal in the Bulldogs' loss to No. 1 Ohio State in the regional final.
