No. 16 Yale, No. 15 Duke Take Center Stage Tuesday Night in Durham

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – A marquee matchup is up next for the No. 16 Yale women's lacrosse team, as the Bulldogs visit No. 15 Duke Tuesday night (7:00 p.m., ACC Network, Live Stats, Tickets). This is one of six games nationwide this week that feature two teams ranked in the top 16 in the ILWomen/IWLCA poll, and it is the only one taking place on Tuesday.

Last Game
Yale (4-2, 1-0 Ivy League) scored the first three goals of the fourth quarter to take a 10-7 lead at UConn Saturday, but the Huskies rallied to tie the game 10-10 and then won it 11-10 at 1:10 of overtime. Sophomore attacker Jenna Collignon (Hinsdale, Ill.) led Yale with five goals, the fourth time this season she has had four or more goals in a game.
 
Collignon Named to Tewaaraton Award Watch List
Sophomore attacker Jenna Collignon (Hinsdale, Ill.) has been named to the Tewaaraton Award Women's Watch List. The Tewaaraton Foundation announced the additions last Thursday. Collignon leads the Ivy League in goals (21) and points (25). She has a 13 game point-scoring streak dating back to last season, and has at least three goals in 10 of those 13 games. She is shooting .477 (21 for 44) this year. She led Yale with six goals and seven points in the 15-10 win vs. No. 14 Princeton Mar. 4 to open Ivy League play.

Yale is 100 for 111 (.901) on clears and has limited its opponents to a 93 for 119 (.782) performance on clears.
 
Bulldogs Among the Best in the Nation
Yale ranks second in the nation in caused turnovers per game (12.17), ninth in shots per game (33.67) and 12th in scoring defense (8.50 goals per game).

Yale has outshot its opponents 202-124 this season, an average margin of +13 shots per game.
 
Penoyer Tops Ivy League in Assists
Senior attacker Olivia Penoyer (Manlius, N.Y.) leads the Ivy League in assists with 13. Penoyer's six assists in the win at Quinnipiac Feb. 22 are the most by any Ivy Leaguer this season. Her league-leading 37 assists last season ranked her eighth on the league's single-season assists record list.
 
Carrasquillo Second in Draws
Sophomore midfielder Sky Carrasquillo (Alpharetta, Ga.) ranks second in the Ivy League in draw controls with 28. Her 94 draw controls last season ranked her seventh on the league's single-season draw controls record list. 
 
Road Warriors
Yale is in the midst of a stretch in which it plays six of eight games on the road, and four are against teams that are ranked or receiving votes in the most recent ILWomen/IWLCA poll (at RV UConn Mar. 11, at No. 15 Duke Mar. 14, at No. 13 Army Apr. 4, at No. 23 Penn Apr. 8).

Yale and Duke first met Apr. 17, 1999, when the Blue Devils were ranked No. 2 in the nation. The game was played at Notre Dame; Yale won 6-5. The following year, Apr. 16, 2000, Duke won 17-4 in Durham. The Blue Devils won again Apr. 14, 2001 in New Haven (5-2). Yale evened the series 2-2 with a 13-12 win Apr. 13, 2002 in a game played at Notre Dame.
 
Scouting Duke
Duke (4-3, 0-0 ACC) has gone 1-3 since starting the season 3-0, including an 11-10 loss at Clemson this past Saturday that marked the Tiger program's first win over an ACC opponent and over a top 25 ranked opponent. Duke is 10th nationally in caused turnovers per game (10.71) and draw controls per game (16.57).
