NEW HAVEN, Conn. – It's another Saturday on the road for the Yale men's lacrosse team. The Bulldogs will be in Philadelphia to meet Penn in another key Ivy League game, The opening faceoff is slated for noon at Franklin Field.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

* Yale sits at No. 20 in both the Inside Lacrosse and USILA national polls this week. Penn is No. 19 in both polls.

* Five of the Bulldogs' six games have come against teams currently ranked in the top 20. Yale has victories over No. 6 Villanova and No. 13 Denver and has fallen to No. 5 Cornell, No. 11 Penn State and No. 18 Princeton.

* Seven of Yale's top nine scorers are sophomores or juniors. Fifty-two of the Bulldogs' 80 goals have come from the sophomore class.

* Sophomore Chris Lyons, the team's leading goal scorer with 25, is second in the nation in goals per game (4.17). He has scored at least four goals in four of six games, including nine in the season opener against Villanova.

* Goalie Jared Paquette leads the Ivy League and is fourth in the nation in saves per game (14.83). He has made at least 11 saves in all six games, including a season-high 22 in the victory at Massachusetts.

* Matt Brandau, a Tewaaraton Award candidate, is tied for the Ivy League lead in assists with 14. Brandau enters the game with 130 career goals, which is fifth all-time at Yale and three behind Conrad Oberbeck (2012-2015). Brandau's 86 career assists are seventh in school history and his 216 career points are third. Brandau was held without a goal at Princeton last Saturday for the first time in his outstanding career. * The Bulldogs are playing in Franklin Field for the first time since 2019 when Penn edged Yale 13-12 in a triple overtime thriller.

* The Bulldogs are right back in action on Tuesday, hosting No. 17 Boston University at Reese Stadium, the first of three straight home games for Yale.
