Bulldogs Compete at West Point Twilight

WEST POINT, N.Y. -- The Yale men's track and field team competed at the West Point Twilight Meet Thursday night at Shea Stadium, earning five top-seven finishes -- led by junior Chris Ward taking fourth in the shot put (16.79m). The throws squad added a sixth-place finish by first year Nolan Recker in the discus (49.00m).

Five Bulldogs competed in the 1500m, where first year Owen Karas (3:44.41, a new PR) was one of five runners to break the meet record (3:44.42 by Joel Hubbard in 2017). In addition to Karas' fifth-place finish, junior Liam Garrett (3:45.95, also a new PR) placed seventh. Sophomores Austin Montini, Calvin Katz and Elon Abergel rounded out the Yale group, placing 13th, 15th and 17th respectively.

In the 800m, junior Thomas Cirrito (1:51.13) placed seventh.

The Bulldogs will return to action Saturday, hosting the Last Chance Meet.
