NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's lacrosse team avenged one of its regular season losses in the semifinals of the Ivy League Tournament, knocking off Cornell 22-15 on Friday. In the championship game, the Bulldogs have the opportunity to exact more revenge. Back on Mar. 25, Princeton defeated Yale 23-10 in New Jersey. The rematch is Sunday at noon at Columbia's Lawrence A. Wien Stadium at Robert K Kraft Field. ESPN2 has the television coverage, and the winner earns the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Â
Regardless of Sunday's outcome, Yale (9-4) has put itself in strong position to earn an NCAA Tournament berth. The Bulldogs, who have won six straight games, were No. 9 in the latest RPI rankings, which doesn't include Friday's win over Cornell.
Â
The NCAA Tournament field will be announced at 9:30 p.m. EDT on Sunday evening on ESPNU.

YALE-PRINCETON HISTORY
Yale and Princeton are meeting in the championship game of the Ivy Tournament for the fourth time. Yale also beat Princeton in the 2012 (15-7) and 2013 (12-8) championship game. In addition, the teams met in the semifinals of the very first Ivy Tournament in 2010, a 7-6 Princeton victory.

Matt Brandau scored five goals and added three assists in the Bulldogs' 14-12 regular season victory at Reese Stadium. SCOUTING PRINCETON
Â
While Yale erupted for 22 goals in its semifinal win, the Tigers relied on a stingy defense to advance. Michael Gianforcaro made 15 saves in goal as Princeton edged Penn 9-8.
