NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale University men's tennis team completed day three of the Ivy League ITA Masters Qualifying event with contests in both singles and doubles action today.
Singles Results
- Jim Ji reached the finals with a pair of wins on Sunday. He opened in the quarterfinals with a 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 triumph over Petar Teodorovic of Cornell. Facing Rodrigo Fernandes of Cornell in the semis, he won in straight sets 7-6 (14-12), 6-2. Ji will face either Felipe Pinzon or Carlos Guerrero Alvarez in the finals.
- Edward Liao was defeated in three sets by Fernandes, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3.
- Jason Shuler retired due to injury in his consolation match against Miles Groom of Dartmouth.
Doubles Results
- Vignesh Gogineni and Shuler were edged by Alan Kam and Evan Wen of Princeton on Sunday in the final, 4-6, 7-6 (10-8) and 10-6.
The Bulldogs return to action for the final day of the Ivy League ITA Masters Qualifying on Monday..
