WACO, Texas  - Vignesh Gogineni of the Yale University men's tennis team was defeated in his opening match at the NCAA Division I Individual Championships on Tuesday afternoon.

Gogineni faced Cooper Williams of Duke in today's action. Williams emerged with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Gogineni.

The NCAA Championships continue tomorrow with day two action in Waco.
