NEW YORK, N.Y. – First year
Jordan Silberzweig was crowned as the Ivy League champion in the Saber as the Yale men's fencing team competed at the conference championships over the weekend at Columbia. Silberzweig compiled a 9-3 record overall to take home the Ivy title in his weapon.
Despite dropping all four matchups over the two-day event, the Bulldogs competed well against four top-eight programs.
Day 1
On the opening day of competition, the Bulldogs fell to Penn and Princeton.
Day 2
Yale dropped matchups to Columbia and Harvard to wrap up competition. Silberzweig, however, was a standout performer, outpacing every other competitor in the saber.
Charlson Kim also did well in the saber, placing fifth overall and earning second team All-Ivy League honors.
Nicholas Kim was the Bulldogs' top placer in the foil, coming in 11
th. First year
Konstantin Vaysbukh placed ninth in the epee.
