NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Junior attacker
Jenna Collignon (Hinsdale, Ill.) of the Yale women's lacrosse team has been named honorable mention Preseason All-America by ILWomen. The media outlet announced the honor Wednesday.
This is the second major preseason honor for Collignon, who was named
Honorable Mention Preseason All-America by USA Lacrosse last month.
Collignon enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2023, earning unanimous first team All-Ivy League recognition and second team IWLCA All-Northeast Region recognition. She finished third in the Ivy League in goals with 53 (tied for seventh on Yale's single-season record list) and second in points with 65 (seventh on Yale's single-season record list). She was also second in the league in draw controls with 77 (fifth on Yale's single-season record list). All of those totals represented dramatic increases from the 2022 season (26 goals, 28 points, 32 draw controls). She was 25th nationally in goals per game (3.12).
In addition to Collignon's all-region and All-Ivy League honors last year, she also was
named to the Tewaaraton Award Women's Watch List and was an
Honorable Mention ILWomen Midseason All-American.
Collignon is a graduate of Hinsdale Central High.
ILWomen's list of Preseason All-Americans included 13 first teamers, 13 second teamers, 13 third teamers and 32 honorable mentions. Yale was one of two Ivy League teams represented on the list; the other was Penn.
Yale opens the 2024 season at Reese Stadium on Feb. 17 vs. Stanford.
