BOSTON -- The Yale women's track and field team had a successful day of competition at BU's David Hemery Valentine Invitational Friday. The meet was a great opportunity for the team to tune up for the Ivy League Championships, which are hosted by Harvard in two weeks.

- In the sprints, senior Mira Thakur ran 25.08 in the 200m, just a tenth of a second off her PR. Yale's highest-placing finisher in the 400m was first year Gloria Guerrier, who put down a solid mark with a time of 56.30 seconds. Junior Bridget Vitu set a PR in the same event, crossing the line in 56.71 seconds.
- The middle-distance events featured exciting races as well. First year Victoria Guerrier ran 2:09.68 in her first collegiate 800m, making her the top finisher for the Bulldogs in the event. Sophomore Ruby Barton set a PR in the 1k in 2:58.51, shaving three seconds off her previous best time.
- The Bulldogs also looked strong in the distance events. In the mile, junior Kylie Goldfarb crossed the line in 5:08.57, a personal record, while first yearÂ
Hebe Chadwick dipped below 5 minutes, finishing in 4:59.95. Senior Kyra Pretre finished the 3k in a time of 9:36.85, the fastest 3k mark by a Yale runner this season.
Next up, the Bulldogs host the 17th Giegengack Invitational. This competition, their last home meet of the season, will take place on Saturday. Two weeks after the invitational, Yale will head up to Boston to compete in the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships from Feb. 24-25.
