Bulldogs Wrap Up Final Day at UCF Knights Invite

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Yale women's track and field team wrapped up competition at the UCF Knights Invite Saturday, capping a week of training in Florida. The warm weather gave the Bulldogs a chance to get their legs moving and set new PRs at the first meet of the outdoor season.

The Bulldogs:

The day kicked off with the women's discus throw. Captain Bella Bergloff led the charge for the Bulldogs, throwing 44.14 meters. Kalei Memmer also threw well, putting in a mark of 42.09 -- just outside her PR.
In the triple jump Alexandra Bonn, Bharathi Subbiah and Sophie Wright pushed each other to all jump well and set good marks for their season opener.
In the 4x100 meter relay, the Bulldogs entered two teams. The team consisting of Sophie Spokes, Mira Thakur, Dominique Romain and Juliette Kosmont raced well to run 46.98.
Victoria Guerrier ran a blistering 2:06 in the 800 meters to set a new PR in what has been a successful first year for her. Linde Fonville and Kalista Villatoro both raced well to run 2:11 and 2:12 respectively.
In the 100 meters Kosmont raced into the top 10 with a time of 12.13. Makayla White and Dominique Romain raced each other hard to run 12.32 and 12.35.
The 4x400 meters was the final event of the day and was contested by two Yale teams. The team of Lola Isom, Bridget Vitu, Thakur and Ella Mainwaring Foster fought well to run a good time of 3:51. This bodes well for the future as the Bulldogs start to compete against their Ivy League rivals.

The Bulldogs will be back in action next at the Raleigh Relays, which begin on Mar. 28 and run through to Mar. 30. Also taking place on Mar. 30 is the UConn Dog Fight in nearby Storrs, Conn.
