NEW HAVEN, Conn. – After cruising to a 21-10 victory over Le Moyne on Tuesday, the Yale men's lacrosse team is back to Ivy League play on Saturday, traveling to Providence to face Brown. The opening faceoff at Stevenson-Pincince Field is slated for 2 p.m.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• The Bulldogs (5-2, 1-1 Ivy) outscored Le Moyne 8-1 in the second quarter on their way to the win Tuesday at Reese Stadium. Matt Brandau and Max Krevsky each scored three goals to lead the way. All three of Krevsky's goals came during the second-quarter onslaught.

• Yale is ranked third in the NCAA RPI through games of Mar. 27, trailing only Duke (No. 1) and Penn State (No. 2).

• In this week's national polls, the Bulldogs are ranked No. 10 by the USILA and No. 11 by Inside Lacrosse.

• It could be a record-breaking afternoon for Brandau. In 62 games at Yale, he has scored 173 goals, one shy of Ben Reeves' school record of 174 set in 67 games between 2015 and 2018. Brandau also is closing in on the all-time assist record. He has 132 career assists, 10 shy of Reeves' school mark.

• Brandau is the national leader in assists per game (3.86) and points per game (6.57).

• Machado Rodriguez, who was added to the 2024 Tewaaraton Award Watch List on Thursday, leads the Ivy League and is fourth in the nation in faceoff percentage (.645) and is No. 1 nationally in ground balls per game (11.14).

• Carson Kuhl, who has scored at least one goal in all seven games, has nine goals and six assists in his last three games.

• Yale is second in the nation in scoring offense (16.57), trailing only Notre Dame (17.0).

• Seven Bulldogs have at least eight goals on the season, led by Brandau and David Anderson, who each have 19.

• Last year at Reese Stadium, Yale held a high-powered Brown offense to just two second-half goals in a 16-10 victory.

• The Bulldogs have won nine of the last 11 meetings with the Bears.

SCOUTING BROWN

The Bears (1-7, 0-1 Ivy) are back in league play as well after splitting two non-conference games last weekend. Brown edged UMass on Friday and then fell to Villanova on Monday. Both games were played in Providence. Four of the Bears' losses have come to nationally ranked opponents, including a 14-13 overtime loss to Maryland, currently ranked No. 5. Aidan McLane leads the Bruno offense with 16 goals and 19 points. Connor Theriault has started all seven games in goal and holds a 12.27 goals against average and .493 save percentage. Brown's man-down defense leads the conference and ranks ninth nationally at .769 (30-39). Dash Sachs is .493 (75-152) on the season at the faceoff X and leads the Bears with 45 ground balls. He has won 50 percent or more of his faceoffs in each of the last six games.
