NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's lacrosse team is right back to work on Tuesday, traveling to Long Island to meet Hofstra. The opening faceoff is slated for 7 p.m., and GoHofstra.com has the video.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• The Bulldogs (9-2, 4-1 Ivy) have won five straight games and seven of their last eight.

• A pair of victories last week moved Yale up to No. 8 in this week's Inside Lacrosse media poll. The Bulldogs are No. 9 in the USILA Coaches' poll.

• Yale is playing its fourth game in 11 days, and the first three have been very hard fought. The Bulldogs beat then No. 12 Penn 12-9 on Apr. 6, then No. 15 Boston University 18-16 last Tuesday and Dartmouth 20-13 on Saturday.

• While the final margin may have been wide, Saturday's victory over the Big Green was far from easy. Yale trailed 7-1 after the first quarter and had to rally, outscoring Dartmouth 6-3 in the second, 6-0 in the third and 7-3 in the fourth. In one stretch from late in the second quarter until 8:55 remained in the fourth, the Bulldogs scored 14 straight goals.

• It was another huge week for Matt Brandau, who combined for 20 points (7 goals, 13 assists) in the victories over BU and Dartmouth. He was named both the Ivy League Offensive and Lacrosse Network Player of the Week for his performance. Brandau has 33 goals and 44 assists on the season and continues to lead the nation in points per game (7.0) and assists per game (4.0).

• Brandau is now the school's all-time leader in goals (187), assists (149) and points (336). He broke the goal scoring mark in the win at Brown on Mar. 30 and career points and assists record last Tuesday at BU. All three marks had been held by three-time All-American and 2018 Tewaaraton Award winner Ben Reeves.

• Next up for Brandau is the pursuit of all-time Ivy League records. His 187 career goals are the third most in Ivy history. He is four behind Cornell's Mike French (191) and 10 in back of Brown's Dylan Molloy (197). Brandau's 336 career points are second in league history. Cornell's Rob Pannell (354) is the all-time leader.

• David Anderson has scored nine goals in the last two games. He tallied five times against Dartmouth on Saturday, matching his career high.

• Johnny Keib has eight goals in his last two games. He scored a career-high five in the win over BU last Tuesday.

• Carson Kuhl has at least one point in all 11 games this season. His season high in goals is four vs. Harvard, and he had a season-high four assists against Penn State.

• Defenseman Patrick Pisano leads the Ivy League and is 28th nationally in caused turnovers per game (1.64).

• Yale continues to inch closer to Notre Dame for the national lead in scoring offense. The Irish average 16.56 goals per game with the Bulldogs right behind at 16.55.

• Yale is the national leader in face-off winning percentage (.627) and ground balls per game (40.45).

• The Bulldogs, who are tied with Penn for first place in the Ivy League, have clinched a spot in the four-team Ivy League Tournament. Yale is the only school to have qualified for all 13 Ivy tournaments.

• Yale and Hofstra are playing for the first time since 1995, a 10-9 Pride victory. The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 8-4.
