Tyburski Tabbed Ivy League Coach of the Year; Four Bulldogs Earn Year-End Accolades

PRINCETON, N.J. – Yale men's golf head coach Keith Tyburski was named the Ivy League Coach of the Year, announced on Wednesday, April 24. Tyburski's selection was a unanimous decision voted upon by his peers.

In Tyburski's first season at the helm, he led the Bulldogs to a first-place finish at the Ivy League Championships, while Ben Carpenter finished first in the tournament overall, winning medalist honors.

Tyburski led the Bulldogs to their 12th team championship in history after being down by five strokes behind Princeton, the reigning 2023 Ivy League Champions, heading into the final day of competition. The Bulldogs shot their Championship-best round on the final day to secure the win.

For Carpenter, it was the 16th time a Yale men's golfer had been the tournament's medalist since the development of the Ivy League Men's Golf Championship in 1975, and the second time in his career at Yale. Carpenter also became the eighth men's golfer in Ivy history to earn medalist honors twice and just the third Yale golfer next to Peter Teraveinen (1977, 1978) and Bob Heintz (1990, 1991, 1992).

Carpenter's finish at the Championships earned him First Team All-Ivy honors, while Robert You finished fourth and also landed First Team honors. Sam Davis, who finished 10th was named Second Team All-Ivy.

Senior captain Gabriel Ruiz, an economics major, was named at Yale's Academic All-Ivy representative.
