NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's lacrosse team has already secured a spot in the post season, but there is still plenty on the line when the Bulldogs host Princeton on the final day of the regular season on Saturday at Reese Stadium. A victory earns Yale at least a share of the Ivy League title (Yale also is guaranteed a share with a Cornell loss to Dartmouth). The Bulldogs would win the title outright and host next week's Ivy Tournament with a win coupled with a Cornell loss.

In addition, it is Senior Day at Reese, and Yale's 11 seniors will be honored prior to the noon start.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Yale (11-2, 4-1 Ivy) has won seven straight games, its longest streak since early in the 2018 NCAA championship season. The Bulldogs haven't had an eight-game winning streak since the 2016 team won its first 10 games of the season.

• Yale is seeking the 10th Ivy League title in school history. The last came in 2022. Andy Shay, the Forst Family Head Coach of the Bulldogs, has guided Yale to regular season championships in 2010, 2017, 2018 and 2022.

•  Yale is ranked No. 8 in the USILA Coaches' poll and No. 9 in the Inside Lacrosse media poll.

• Yale has now won 10 or more games in seven of the last eight full seasons. Since 2010, the Bulldogs have won at least 10 games in 11 of 13 full seasons.

• Saturday could be a record-breaking day for senior Matt Brandau, who has 195 career goals, the second most in Ivy League history, trailing only Brown's Dylan Molloy (197). Brandau's 353 career points are also second in league history, just one fewer than Cornell's Rob Pannell, the all-time leader with 354.

• Brandau remains the national leader in points per game (7.23) and assists per game (4.08). And he is the leader by a wide margin in both categories. Harvard's Sam King is second in points per game (5.75) and Stony Brook's Nick Dupuis is second in assists per game (3.54).

• Brandau has had at least eight points in each of his last four games, including an 11-point (3 goals, 8 assists) outburst at Boston University. In the four-game stretch, he has 15 goals and 22 assists.

• Brandau is one of 11 seniors that will be honored on Saturday. He is joined by Thomas Bragg, Bryce De Muth, Brett Mallee, Xander Martin, Jack Monfort, Jack Ocken, Clay Ostrover, Korbin Pecora, Nicholas Ramsey and the 2024 captain Patrick Hackler

• Sophomore David Anderson, who has scored 12 goals in the last four games, has 35 goals on the season after not scoring last spring in his first year.

• Junior Johnny Keib has scored 21 goals this season after combining for 14 in his first two seasons.

• Junior Carson Kuhl also has well-surpassed his career high in goals with 26 this season.

• Patrick Pisano is the Ivy League leader in caused turnovers (1.62 per game).

• Yale has overtaken Notre Dame and leads the nation in scoring offense (16.54 goals per game). Princeton is the Ivy leader in scoring defense. The Tigers have allowed 12 or more goals in only four of 12 games.

• Yale and Princeton are playing for the fifth time in the last three seasons. The Tigers have won three of the four, including a victory in the championship game of last year's Ivy League Tournament and a win in the quarterfinals of the 2022 NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs won the last meeting at Reese Stadium, 14-12 in the 2022 regular season.

SCOUTING PRINCETON

The Tigers (8-4, 3-2 Ivy) also have much at stake in the regular season finale as a win clinches a berth in the Ivy Tournament for Princeton, which also can get in with a loss and a Harvard victory over Brown. The Tigers can earn a share of the Ivy regular season title with a win and a Cornell loss. Princeton is coming off a 15-10 home win over Penn last Saturday. The Tigers' stingy defense is anchored by Michael Bath, who leads the Ivy League with 1.67 caused turnovers per game. Princeton has a pair of first years with at least 20 goals in Nate Kabiri (29) and Colin Burns (20). Coulter Mackesy leads the team in points with 47 (29 goals, 18 assists).

IVY LEAGUE TOURNAMENT INFO
The Ivy League Tournament is next weekend. Cornell will host and be the No. 1 seed if it beats Dartmouth on Saturday. The Big Red and Big Green meet at 4 p.m. in Hanover. A Princeton victory over Yale would also secure the No. 1 seed and hosting duties for Cornell. Penn joins Yale in already qualifying for the four-team tournament.

Depending on Saturday's results, Yale can be the No. 1, 2 or 3 seed in the tournament.

The first semifinal between the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds is set for 6 p.m. next Friday. No. 1 hosts No. 4 at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Both games will be televised on ESPNU. The championship game is next Sunday at noon, also on ESPNU.
