NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's lacrosse team begins a stretch of three straight road games with a trip to Boston University on Tuesday. The opening faceoff at Nickerson Field is slated for 4 p.m., and ESPN+ has the video.

• The Bulldogs (7-2, 3-1 Ivy) have moved into the top 10 in both national polls. Yale is ranked No. 8 by the USILA and No. 9 by Inside Lacrosse.

• The Bulldogs are coming off an important 12-9, Ivy League victory over Penn on Saturday at Reese Stadium. The nine goals allowed were a season low. Yale outshot the Quakers 50-33 and had a 38-16 edge in ground balls.

Matt Brandau's five points (3 goals, 2 assists) in the victory over Penn give him 316 for his career, tying him with Ben Reeves '18 for the most all-time at Yale. Brandau, who already is Yale's career goal-scoring leader, is six assists shy of tying Reeves' school-record mark of 142 career assists.

• Brandau is the national leader in points per game (6.33) and is third in assists per game (3.44).

Machado Rodriguez leads the nation in ground balls per game (10.22) and is second in face-off winning percentage (.647).

• Boston University is the seventh nationally ranked opponent for the Bulldogs, who have already played Denver (No. 7), Cornell (No. 10), Penn State (No. 11), Penn (No. 14), Harvard (No. 15) and Colgate (No. 18).

• Yale is No. 1 in this week's New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll. BU and Harvard are tied for second.

• Last year at Reese Stadium, the Bulldogs outscored BU 7-1 in the second quarter on their way to a 17-14 victory. Yale also had a big second quarter in the last meeting at Nickerson Field, outscoring the Terriers 11-1 in a 22-15 victory in 2022.

The Terriers, ranked No. 16 in this week's Inside Lacrosse poll, haven't played since a 22-6 win at Holy Cross on Mar. 30. BU (7-3) has won four of its last five games with the only loss coming to then No. 5 Duke 11-10. Also in the stretch was a 14-9 victory at Army, ranked No. 1 in the nation at the time. Yale is the second Ivy League opponent for the Terriers, who beat Brown 16-10 back on Feb. 20. BU goalie Will Barnes is fifth in the nation in saves per game (14.3) and sixth in save percentage (.584). Louis Perfetto is fourth nationally in points per game (5.40). BU head coach Ryan Polley, who is in his 11th season guiding the Terriers, spent six seasons on
Andy Shay's staff at Yale as an assistant coach.
