WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – The Yale heavyweight crew team wrapped its competition at the 2024 Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championships.
First Varsity
- The Bulldogs finished second in their first heat on Friday. They placed second behind California to earn a spot in the A semifinals with a time of 5:40.964.
- In the semifinal race, the Bulldogs took third (5:30.112) behind Washing ton (5:28.702) and Princeton (5:29.145).
- In the grand final, the first varsity boat took fifth place behind Washington, Harvard, California, and Princeton, respectively. Yale finished with a time of 5:34.729.
Second Varsity
- In the heats on Friday, the Bulldogs took second behind Princeton with a time of 5:47.293.
- Semifinal action saw Yale finished fourth, just outside the qualification for Sunday's grand finals.
- The Bulldogs competed in Sunday's petite final where they finished second behind Syracuse with a time of 5:44.356.
Third Varsity
- Yale finished second in Friday's heats. The Bulldogs finished with a time of 5:50.060 behind California who finished 5:47.330.
- In the semifinals, Yale finished fourth behind Washington, Brown, and Dartmouth. The Bulldogs pulled up with a time of 5:47.221.
- Despite not qualifying for the grand final, the Bulldogs competed in the petite final where they took the top spot and finished seventh in the nation.
