Women's Hockey Set to Begin 2025-26 Campaign

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Yale women's ice hockey team kicks off the 2025-26 season with a pair of home matchups against Robert Morris University. The Bulldogs will open their season against the Colonials on Friday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. at Ingalls Rink. The two teams will square off again on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 3 p.m.

Looking Back
Yale is coming off a 2024-25 season in which the team finished with an overall record of 16-13-3, the Bulldogs' fifth consecutive winning season. The Elis locked up the No. 6 seed in the ECAC Tournament, downing Dartmouth in the opening round before falling to St. Lawrence in the quarterfinals.

The Bulldogs graduated a strong 11-member senior class highlighted by 100-point scorer Anna Bargman and All-American goaltender Pia Dukaric. Bargman finished fourth on Yale's all-time goals list, while Dukaric shattered nearly every goaltending record in program history. The Bulldogs also graduated several top-line defenders, including Vita Poniatovskaia, Emma DeCorby, and Olivia Muhn.

Moving Forward
Despite the loss of a solid and productive senior class from last season, the Bulldogs will return several core members to a talented squad. Senior forwards Jordan Ray and Carina DiAntonio, key members of the 2023 ECAC Championship team, have been stalwarts for the Elis over the past three seasons and will look to end their collegiate tenures on a high note. Ray enters the season with 95 points, attempting to become the seventh player in program history to reach the 100-point mark. DiAntonio is not far behind, tallying 82 points in her first three seasons.

Fellow seniors Gracie Gilkyson, Sylvia Bojarski, and Naomi Boucher will also play major roles in the Bulldogs' success this season. Juniors Mariya Rauf and Stephanie Stainton and sophomore Cami Bell will also factor in on the offensive end of the ice.

Junior Anna Phillips, sophomore Naomi Baechler, and first year Samson Frey will compete for time in goal for Yale.

The Bulldogs enter the season receiving votes in the national poll and were picked to finish seventh in the ECAC Preseason Poll.

New Faces
The Bulldogs welcome seven newcomers to the squad: Ella Klinkhammer, Molly Boyle, Maeve Casey, Hannah Weyerhaeuser, Sage Smith, Kennedy Walker, and Samson Frey.

Facing Robert Morris
The Colonials enter Friday's matchup with a 3-3 record. RMU has recorded wins over Assumption and RIT. Jessica MacKinnon leads the team with seven points. Yale and RMU faced off twice last season, with the Bulldogs prevailing in both matchups.
