Late Goal Lifts Dartmouth Past Yale on Senior Day

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women soccer team battled, but a late penalty kick goal proved to be the difference as the Dartmouth Big Green outlasted the Bulldogs, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon at Reese Stadium. Yale fell to 3-10-0 (1-4-0 Ivy), while Dartmouth improved to 7-3-4 (2-1-2 Ivy).

"It's unfortunate to concede so late on a penalty called after the play, especially after Kyla already saved one in the game, but that is the way the game goes sometimes, said Sarah Martinez, Loring Family Head Coach of Women's Soccer. "I thought we were very good and dangerous in the second half but just couldn't find the net."

Prior to the game, the Bulldogs honored seniors Belle Golden, Logan Jacobs, Ashley Kirschner, and Regan Lundstedt for their contributions to the program.

"Obviously, we wanted to win on senior day for these four who have given so much to us - and a special shout out to Logan Jacobs as she just played her final game as a Bulldog," added Martinez. "She was tremendous for us in her career and one of the best midfielders in our league. I am happy for her to have another year when she graduates to go show everyone else just how good she is."
