NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The 2025-26 Yale men's indoor track and field schedule is set, with the first competition set for Friday, Dec. 5. The Bulldogs have 10 meets scheduled before the championship season starts, with the Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track and Field Championships scheduled for Feb. 28-Mar. 1 at The Armory in New York.
The Bulldogs are entering their second season with
Courtney Jaworski as the team's Mark T. Young '68 Director of Cross Country and Track and Field. Senior
Andrew Farr (Gorham, Me.) is Yale's captain.
Here is a breakdown of the 2025-26 schedule:
- The team will be quite busy on the first weekend of the season, with three meets scheduled:
- Yale did not compete at this meet last year. This year, the Bulldogs will compete in the multi events.
- The Yale Season Opener Dec. 6
- Yale won nine events at this meet last year.
- BU's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener Dec. 6
- Senior Owen Karas broke the school 5K record with a time of 13:53.27 at this meet last year.
- Following winter break, the Bulldog host the annual Yale-Dartmouth-Columbia meet on Saturday, Jan. 17 at Coxe Cage. Yale tied Columbia for first at this meet last year in Hanover N.H.,, finishing with 59 points. Dartmouth was third with 56 points. Senior Nolan Recker broke his own school record in the weight throw (20.80).
- Yale first competes at The Armory, site of this year's Ivy League Championships, as part of Columbia's Dr. Sander Scorcher Jan. 23-24. The Bulldogs did not compete at this meet last year.
- The Bulldogs split up again on the final weekend in January:
- The Penn Invitational Jan. 30
- Yale did not compete at this meet last year.
- BU's John Thomas Terrier Classic Jan. 30-31
- Last year at this meet senior Owen Karas established a school record in the 3K with a time of 7:51.68.
- Yale returns to Boston on the first weekend of February, competing at the IC4A Championships Feb. 7-8. BU is the meet host. The Bulldogs did not compete at this meet last year.
- Two meets are in store on Valentine's Day Weekend:
- BU's David Hemery Valentine Invitational Feb. 13-14
- Last year at this meet the Bulldogs competed in the 400m, 3K and mile.
- The 18th Giegengack Invitational at Coxe Cage Feb. 14
- Last year at this meet the Bulldogs had three runners establish PRs in the mile.
- The Bulldogs make one more trip to Boston on Feb. 21, competing at BU's DMR Challenge. Yale did not compete at this meet last year.
- The Ivy League Indoor Track and Field Championships take place Saturday, Feb. 28, and Sunday, Mar. 1 at The Armory in New York City. Three of Yale's returnees earned top-two finishes at Heps last year: sophomore Max Bishop and senior Owen Karas were part of Yale's first-place distance medley relay team, while senior Brian Di Bassinga placed second in the triple jump.
- The NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships take place Mar. 13-14 in Fayetteville, Ark. Here are the NCAA's selection criteria:
- Qualification to the championships is based on the descending-order list for the season and adhering to the qualifying regulations/criteria published on ncaa.org.
- For each men's individual event contested, including the heptathlon, the top 16 declared student-athletes will be accepted into the competition.
- For each women's individual event contested, including the pentathlon, the top 16 declared student-athletes will be accepted into the competition.
- For each relay event contested, the top 12 declared relay teams will be accepted into the competition.
