PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Yale men's swimming & diving team opened its 2025–26 season in impressive fashion Thursday night, defeating Brown 193–107 at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center.
The Bulldogs claimed victory in 13 of 16 events, led by standout performances from
Noah Millard,
Nick Finch, and
Charlie Egeland, who each earned two individual wins. Yale also dominated the relays, sweeping the top three spots in the 200-yard medley relay and capturing first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
The Results
- 200-yard Medley Relay: The quartet of Lars Kuljus, Egeland, Finch, and Deniel Nankov opened the evening with a win, clocking in at 1:28.51. Close behind, Lucius Brown, Alexander Hazlett, Mak Nurkic Kacapor, and Jake Wang secured second place with a time of 1:29.02, while Ethan Guo, Jack Saber, Elliot Lee, and Nareg Minassian rounded out the top three in 1:31.05.
- 1000-yard Freestyle: Millard was strong in the distance event, taking first place in 9:10.45.
- 200-yard Freestyle: Kuljus continued his standout debut as a Bulldog, winning the event in 1:37.67.
- 100-yard Backstroke: Crash Ackerly earned his first collegiate individual victory with a winning time of 49.51.
- 100-yard Breaststroke: Egeland won with a time of 54.99.
- 200-yard Butterfly: Jose Cano picked up a victory with a time of 1:52.40.
- 50-yard Freestyle: Finch notched his first win of the night with a speedy 19.91.
- 200-yard Backstroke: Millard claimed his second individual win, finishing in 1:48.23.
- 200-yard Breastroke: Egeland continued his strong showing, taking the event in 1:59.74.
- 500-yard Freestyle: Arshak Hambardzumyan earned the win with a time of 4:28.67.
- 100-yard Butterfly: Finch picked up his second victory of the night, finishing with a time of 46.67.
- 200-yard IM: Wang secured a win with a time of 1:48.08.
- 400-yard Freestyle Relay: The quartet of Millard, Cano, Kavin Li, and Kuljus closed out the night in style, winning the event at 2:59.10.
