PRINCETON, N.J. – Yale junior nickel linebacker Abu Kamara has been named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday, Nov. 17.
In the Bulldogs' 13-10 victory over Princeton, Kamara made 10 combined tackles, recorded a sack and recovered a crucial fumble midway through the third quarter to preserve Yale's lead at the time.
Kamara is one of the Ivy League's best tacklers, currently sitting third on the team with 59 total this season to go along with two interceptions, 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble, three fumble recoveries and a blocked kick, among other accolades.
The Bulldogs conclude regular season action on Nov. 22 with the 141st edition of The Game against Harvard. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m. from Yale Bowl, Class of 1954 Field, and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU.
