PHILADELPHIA – The Yale women's track and field team had two athletes compete at the Penn Opener Friday at the Jane and David Ott Center. Sophomore

Layni Kaase competed in the pentathlon, with Kaase finishing fourth (3233) and Anderson finishing 13th (2703).
Kaase opened with a second-place finish in the 60mH (9.02), earning 906 points. She then placed sixth in the high jump (1.55m), ninth in the shot put (8.98m) and 10th in the long jump (5.09m), putting her in fourth overall heading into the final event – the 800m. Her third-place finish there (2:37.48), in which she moved up three spots in the final 200m, earned her 602 points and solidified her fourth-place finish overall.
Anderson placed 16th in the 60mH (10.08) and high jump (1.37m), then seventh in the shot put (9.20m) and long jump (5.24m), putting her in 15th overall heading into the final event. She finished 13th in the 800m (2:54.12) to move into 13th overall.
