Bulldogs Win Gold in 200 Medley Relay; Shatter Two Team Records on Day One of the Ivy League Championship

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Yale men's swimming and diving team had an outstanding start to the Ivy League Championship on Wednesday night. The 200-medley relay team set a new program record and claimed gold, while the 800 free relay team also broke the team record, earning silver.
 
After one day of competition, Yale is in first place with 120 points, followed by Princeton in second with 112, and Harvard in third with 108.

  • The 200-medley relay time was just shy of the pool record at 1:23.79.
  • The 800 freestyle relay time was the second-fastest in meet history, with Princeton winning the event with the fastest time of 6:13.75.
   
Looking Ahead
Day two of competition resumes on Thursday, Feb. 27 with prelims at 11 a.m. followed by the finals at 6 p.m.
