NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's basketball team hosts Cornell Saturday (2:00 p.m., ESPN+, International Stream, Live Stats, Tickets).

Last Weekend
Yale (2-18, 1-6 Ivy League) lost to Princeton last Friday and Penn last Saturday.

Chance to Make History
Since the NCAA began keeping official records of women's basketball stats in 1981-82, no Bulldog has led the Ivy League in rebounding. Senior guard/forward Mackenzie Egger (Mount Pleasant, Mich.) has a chance to change that. She currently leads the league in rebounding (9.6 rebounds per game) and is averaging 2.0 more rebounds per game than the next-closest players, Penn's Katie Collins and Stina Almqvist.

Yale's record for rebounds in a season is 279, set by Barb Liebowitz '78 in 1975-76. Egger is on pace for 250 rebounds, which would rank seventh in Yale history:

First-Year Depth Showing for Bulldogs
Yale is the only team in the Ivy League with five first years who have played 15 or more games. Dartmouth and Penn have three; all other teams in the league have two.

First Time for Everything
Cornell is the only Ivy League opponent Yale has not faced yet this season. The Bulldogs have already played Harvard twice, and they have played every other Ivy team once each.

Hot Streak
Yale has won eight in a row in the series vs. Cornell, including a pair of seven-point wins last year. The Bulldogs have held the Big Red to 59 or fewer points six times in that span.

Scouting Cornell
Cornell (5-15, 1-6 Ivy League) is in its first season with Emily Garner as head coach. Prior to joining the Big Red Garner guided Division III Trinity (Conn.) to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances (2023, 2024) and the school's first-ever NESCAC regular season title. Cornell's win at Dartmouth Jan. 31 snapped a string of 13 straight losses in Ivy League play dating back to Feb. 2, 2024.
