AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Yale women's golf team wrapped up competition at the Valspar Augusta Invitational, held at Forest Hills Golf Club and hosted by Augusta University. Originally scheduled as a two-day, three-round event, the tournament was cut short after inclement weather forced the cancellation of Sunday's final round.
After 36 holes, Georgia Southern claimed the tournament title with a 6-over-par 582 (290-292). The Bulldogs finished seventh with a score of 607 (306-301) in a competitive 13-team field.
Event Notes
- Mia Sessa and Alexis Kim each earned their first top-10 finishes of the spring season.
- Sessa finished third out of 77 golfers, carding rounds of 74 and 69 to post a 3-under-par 143. She climbed from 13th place after the first round to finish just one stroke shy of second and four strokes off the lead.
- Kim placed ninth with a total of 146, shooting 73 in both rounds to finish 2-over par.
- As a team, Yale led the field in par-3 scoring (3.08). Kim (2.63) and Joanne Lee (2.88) were the top individual performers on par-3 holes.
