CHERRY HILL, N.J. – Yale women's crew, ranked No. 6 in this week's CRCA national poll, made a strong start to its spring season with four wins over No. 9 Michigan, and five wins over No. 13 Rutgers and No. 14 Ohio State on Saturday in the Ivy/Big Ten Dust Up on the Cooper River in New Jersey.
 
"Today was a good start to our season, said Will Porter, The Friends of YWC Head Coach of the Bulldogs. "We were able to make some positive changes between races that helped. It was a great team effort, and we look forward to getting back to classes in a regular daily routine of being student-athletes."
 
 
Notable Performances vs. Ohio State/Rutgers

• First Varsity Eight: Stroked by Violet Barletta, Yale crossed the line first at 6:21.2, 4.2 seconds ahead of Rutgers (6:25.4)
• Second Varsity Eight: The Bulldogs (6:31.9) crossed the line 4.9 seconds ahead of second-place Rutgers (6:36.81).
• Varsity Four: Yale won the race in 7:20.8, 5.93 seconds ahead of second-place Rutgers (7:26.73).
• Second Varsity Four: The Bulldogs finished first at 7:21.8, ahead of second-place Rutgers (7:22.64).
• Third Varsity Eight: Yale won with a time of 6:48.8.

 
Notable Performances vs. Michigan

• First Varsity Eight: Yale had a dominant race, finishing with a time of 6:14.6, 16.57 seconds ahead of Michigan at 6:31.2.
• Second Varsity Eight: The Bulldogs crossed the line first at 6:24.5, over 10 seconds ahead of the Wolverines (6:37.3).
• Varsity Four: Yale crossed the finish line 3.74 seconds ahead of Michigan with a final time of 7:06.8.
• Second Varsity Four: Yale won with a time of 7:17.0, 4.01 seconds ahead of the Wolverines (7:21.0).
