Yale’s Trio of Crews Advance to NCAA Championship Grand Finals

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – The Yale women's crew team continued its impressive performance at the NCAA Championship on Saturday at Mercer Lake, with all three boats earning spots in Sunday's grand finals. The varsity eight won its A/B semifinal, while the varsity four placed second and the second varsity eight finished third.
 
A/B Semifinal Results
  • Stroked by Violet Barletta, the varsity eight had another strong showing, taking control early and maintaining their lead throughout. Yale crossed the line first in 6:04.490, followed by Tennessee (6:07.532), Brown (6:09.822), Virginia (6:12.258), California (6:15.062), and Indiana (6:27.172).
  • The Bulldogs' second varsity eight earned a third-place finish with a time of 6:17.785. Princeton claimed first place in 6:13.135, while Washington followed in second at 6:16.189. Brown finished fourth with a time of 6:24.147, followed by Michigan (6:24.801) and Harvard (6:27.299).
  • Yale's varsity four wrapped up the morning by finishing second with a time of 7:01.583. Washington took first place, finishing in 7:00.329. Behind the Bulldogs were Rutgers (7:02.695), California (7:06.845), Brown (7:12.279), and Michigan (7:17.271).

Looking Ahead
Championship racing concludes on Sunday, June 1. The varsity four grand final will take place at 8:08 a.m., followed by the second varsity eight at 8:24 a.m., and the varsity eight at 8:40 a.m.
