NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Eduardo Ugalde, Interim Head Coach of Men's Tennis, has announced that Sebastian Vile will join his staff as an assistant coach.
"I'm super excited to have Sebastian joining our team," said Ugalde. "His enthusiasm, competitive energy and knowledge of the game will be a great addition to our coaching staff. He has been a part of very successful programs as player and coach and his experience will be valuable as a mentor for our student-athletes."
Vile comes to Yale after serving as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the University of Alabama men's tennis team. He played an integral role in designing team practices, managing equipment logistics, and leading community outreach initiatives to enhance fan engagement and program visibility.
"I am super excited to have this opportunity at Yale," said Vile. "Coach Ugalde and co have worked extremely hard to build this program and improve it every year, and I'm honored and humbled they have entrusted me with continuing their success. Vile is a former men's tennis athlete who competed at both the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2021-2023) and the University of Minnesota (2018-2021). At Wisconsin, he was an active member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and was recognized for his energetic leadership, balancing rigorous athletic, academic, and social commitments. At Minnesota, Vile served as team captain, was a member of SAAC, and worked closely with coaches and support staff while providing ongoing performance feedback to support player development.
