NEW HAVEN, Conn. – This summer, the Bulldogs are embarking on experiences away from the Yale campus. Check in with some members of the Yale softball team and see how they are spending their summer break.
This week, hear from rising senior
Libby Peoples to see what she is up to!
Hi everyone! My name is Libby Peoples. I am from Bothell, Washington, and I am going to be a senior this year. My summer started in New Haven. I had ACL surgery in April and needed to stay on campus for a couple of weeks before heading home. While I wish it were under better circumstances, it was very nice being able to spend some extra time with the seniors before they graduated and to celebrate their accomplishments!
Once I got home, I started my internship. I am a Summer Analyst for Alexander Hutton in Seattle. I have really enjoyed my experience there. It has been a lot of hard work, but it has been exciting to grow and be challenged with all of the new learning. I have to admit, however, the 8-5 life has been quite the adjustment for me to make. I have started to adjust, and my days are busy enough that they go by quickly, but I am so excited to get back to my normal schedule at school and be with my best friends.
After work, most days I have physical therapy or lift. PT has been really hard, but it has been so rewarding to see all the progress that I have made. I still have a long way to go, but I am excited to keep making progress. Every day, I feel like I am able to do something new or do a little bit more than I could the day before. I know being back on campus with my teammates and coaches will only motivate me more to get back out on the field.
This summer has been unlike any other summer. I am very grateful for the lessons learned, goals achieved, and the people who continue to support me through this process. I am so excited to be back on campus with the team and eventually back on the field!
