Cornell Capitalizes Early to Edge Yale in Close Contest

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's soccer team battled, but a goal in the first minute of play proved to be the difference as the Bulldogs fell to Cornell on Saturday evening at Reese Stadium.

The Big Red improved to 3-3-4 (1-1-0 Ivy), and Yale dropped to 2-7-0 (0-2-0 Ivy).

"It's tough to chase a game for 89 minutes," said Sarah Martinez, Loring Family Head Coach of Women's Soccer. "Really disappointed in the result but was happy with the way the group fought till the last whistle to try to equalize."

"Our attention shifts to Princeton next weekend," added Martinez.
